Visitors at this year’s Stitches discovered Korbond in a brand new contemporary stand with inspirational showcase displays and interactive workshops at the Korbond Sewing Studio…
Stuart Caller, General Manager is absolutely delighted by the reaction and enquiries at this year’s show. “We’ve been exhibiting at Stitches for 7 years and this has by far been our best year ever!”
The “New Look” stand, which doubled in size, offered a new feel for Korbond brands and was very well received. Visitors showed an interest at Korbond’s core range of Care & Repair which is an important staple to stock with the current climate where “Make do and Mend” is coming back and upcycling is attracting a growing number of crafters. The greatest reaction seemed to be for the Creations by Korbond, with all eyes on the professional tools and accessories and colourful spring storage collections.
Jenniffer Taylor, Korbond’s brand ambassador, created a real buzz on the stand through her interactive workshops teaching Sashiko embroidery techniques, as well as cute flower brooches with scrap fabrics, the studio was a great environment for retailers to test Korbond’s products.
“We were pleased to see the level of interaction and engagement, and that independent retailers had something to takeaway back to their stores from Korbond, whether it’s a new sewing technique to teach to their own customers or some inspirational ideas to dress up their shop windows using Korbond’s products” Jenniffer Taylor.
To top it all off, Korbond were awarded not only with one but two Awards! Firstly, “Best Stand Award” by ICHF through a survey of trade visitors at the show. Secondly “Best tools, storage and accessories” as nominated by a panel of judges for the Craft Business Awards.
Stuart Caller concludes, “This year we have taken a different direction to present our business and brands to the Craft Market and Stitches gave us the exposure and the opportunity to meet up with all kinds of retailers and buyers. Being part of a creative market we all must continue to evolve and bring an element of newness to keep the industry growing, and Stitches is the perfect platform to showcase it all. I am absolutely delighted with the show, and to receive both awards are an honour for us to be recognised within the industry and this success wouldn’t happen without the hard-work and the spirit of the Korbond Team”.

The annual Craft Business Awards winners were unveiled at this year’s prestigious Craft Business networking event, held at CHSI Stitches tradeshow and Korbond Group were announced as winners of the handpicked category; Best Tools, Storage & Accessories.

Every year, Craft Business recognises various companies within the creative industry who have excelled in their particular areas. The awards cover all types of popular craft disciplines; from stitching and haberdashery to knitting and papercrafts. This year we had the opportunity to be nominated in a new category and we held off tough competition from variety of other well-known companies such as Whitefurze, Groves and Deflecto.

We are more than delighted to have won another Craft Business Award! It is heart-warming to know our hard work has been recognised by well-respected industry figures and to know that each member of the judging panel was given a strict criteria to follow means a lot, as we know a well-rounded judgement of our collection was made. To achieve this and then win the ‘Best Stand at CHSI’ has really topped off what has already been a great tradeshow season for us. This award will inspire us to continue working on the development of new collections in line with trends and seasons for a number of retail channels. We'd like to extend our thanks to everyone involved including Craft Business for all their support over the years.
